That is why we provide what we call "Whole life Support" to our franchisees. Whole life support means we will assist and support you in all areas of your working life. This support will be on-going throughout your franchise agreement period.

In addition to our support all new franchisees will get:

  • An intensive two-week training programme, which will include:
    Full training on the operations manual
    Back office administration system training
    Driver training on 11 Ton trucks

As we've mentioned owning an Ekko Glass Crush & Collect Franchise is not for everyone. Equally, we won't jump into bed with anyone. Ideally, you'll have already had a successful business or career and have strong sales experience.

We look for individuals with:

  • Personable, friendly, honest, resilient and outgoing with a sense of fun

Hands on Running an Ekko franchise is very hands on. We fully expect our franchisee to be involved in all aspect of their business from collecting the waste to making critical business decisions. You must grow your area without damaging the excellent service Ekko Glass Crush & Collect is renowned for providing.

What does it cost?

A territory is rewarded for a one off franchisee fee of £40,000. This includes all equipment to get started and comprehensive training. Additional working capital will be required to fund cash flow.

There are also on-going fees:

  • Service fee for the use of the Ekko System – 10% of Turnover
  • Contribution to the national marketing spend – 2% of Turnover

And the returns?

An Ekko territory with 240 sites would be:

  • Turnover: £345,000
  • Gross Profit: £173,000
  • Running Costs: £76,000
  • Approx net profit: £97,000

Ekko Glass Crush & Collect runs a successful working model in Glasgow and the South West of Scotland.

We have many well established customers such as Turnberry Hotel & Spa, Network Rail, Glasgow's 5 Star Blythswood Hotel, G1 Group, and Crowne Plazza to name but a few. Our unique crush & collect system has prevented over 5000 tonnes of glass going to landfill instead allowing it to be recycled.

FAQ

Can I have more than one territory?

Not immediately. Expanding into other territories depends on your performance in your first territory. However, if you perform well we would be keen to see you grow.

Will I be able to sell my business in the future?

Yes, Obviously we would prefer that you stayed but if you decided to sell your business Ekko Glass Crush & Collect would assist you in selling your franchise to an approved party.

Will I have to work in the business full time or can I employ someone to run my territory?

We believe to fully understand your business you must adopt a hands on approach. Therefore you will initially be required to participate in the day to day running of the business. As your territory grows obviously you will require additional assistance.
