The Glasgow Evening Times ran a story today entitled "Crushers will keep city lanes glass free" featuring the benefits of the Ekko Glass Crush & Collect system. The article highlights the plight of restauranteurs in the Merchant City area of Glasgow who were asked by council officials to remove their waste bins from the streets in preparation for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. With little or no back of house storage area we solved their problem by installing our Ekko glass crushers and greatly reducing their storage requirements. To read more follow this link.

This will mean vast amounts of CO2 will be saved across the whole of the UK. The Ekko team are working on solutions to make reverse vending crushed glass the next step in national account glass waste logistics.

The benefits both financially and environmentally are potentially huge. Ekko Director Brian Williamson, said "Ekko has perfected the system of crushing and extracting glass bottles from different types of outlets, we are now devising systems that will involve national brewers and logistics companies making their deliveries to licensed premises and then filling the empty space with glass cullet.
