In commercial premises such as pubs, clubs, hotels, cafes and restaurants glass is often thrown into general mixed waste bins which goes to landfill or collected in wheeled bins seperated by glass colour which is inefficient in terms of staff wages, storage space required and uncrushed glass collection. About 700,000 tonnes of glass bottle waste is generated by the licensed trade annually in the United Kingdom and only about 25-30% of this is recycled.

Ekko Glass, Can, Cardboard and Plastic Bottle Collection Service

Ekko offer an established collection service for glass, cardboard, plastic and aluminium/steel cans throughout Glasgow city centre, South Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and the West Coast of Scotland. Ekko uses an efficient system crushing waste to one fifth of its original volume, this means our trucks can carry five times more volume than a conventional bin lorry reducing the carbon footprint by up to 5 times. Ekko Glass Crushing Solutions

With our Ekko glass crusher system we reduce your glass bottle waste problem by crushing your glass bottles to glass cullet. For every 5 bins of glass bottles that your business generates, our glass crusher can reduce this by up to 80% to one bin of glass cullet. There is no need to segregate your glass waste before crushing as the glass cullet is crushed to a size that can be optically segregated by colour at the glass recycling plant.

We also design bespoke glass crushing machines for the manufacturing and production industries and we enjoy continued success in exporting our glass crushing products to Europe, The United Arab Emirates and Australasia. Some of our bespoke systems are so efficient they can reduce the glass volume to one tenth of its original size.
